DITMAR

Glavna godišnja naučno fantastična nagrada u Australiji. Dodeljuje se na australijskim nacionalnim naučnofantastičnim konvencijama od 1969. Broj kategorija povećavao se tokom godina od prvobitnih dve do sadašnjih osam, pri čemu je žanrovsko prostiranje nagrade prošireno i na područje epske fantastike. Nagrada se dobija za ostvarenja objavljena ili realizovana prethodne sezone. Dosadašnjih laureati nagrade Ditmar.ditmar award

Bakster se javio prvim SF pričama početkom šezdesetih godina, ali je veće uvažavanje u naučnofantastičnim krugovima stekao tek deceniju kasnije, kada priređuje dve pionirske antologije australijskih SF pisaca (1968. i 1971), kao i knjigu o SF filmu, Naučna fantastika na ekranu (1970). lako je objavio tri romana, Bakster je znatno poznatiji po izvrsnim SF pričama, nastalim tokom šezdesetih godina, koje se odlikuju visokom literarnošću, bliskom načelima novog talasa, pretpostavljajući jalove žanrovske klišee jezičkom eksperimentu i istančanom stilu. Izuzmu li se romani Hermesov pad i Crna jahta, Bakster nije objavljivao naučnu fantastiku posle 1968. Godine 1971. pripala mu je nagrada Ditmar. [...]

    [...] Australijski pisac. Rođen u Melburnu 22. 04. 1944. Završivši studije, počinje da se bavi profesionalnim pisanjem i uredničkim pozivom. Dela 1. Čovek se vratio (A Man Returned), 1965. 2. Čarobnjakov svet (Sorcerer’s World), 1970. 3. Usnuli zmajevi (The Dreaming Dragons), 1980. 4. Judina mandala (The Judas Mandala), 1982. 5. Valencije (Valencies), 1983, sa Rory Barnes 6. Primopredajnici (Transmitters), 1984. 7. Solipsistička samba (The Solipsism Samba), 1985. Jedan od najpoznatijih australijskih pisaca naučno fantastičnog žanra. Priče mu se odlikuju neuobičajeno visokim stepenom literarnosti, sa naglašenim tonovima ironije, pa čak i crnog humora. Broderikova proza podseća na Džojsov prosede, sa obiljem složenih jezičkih obrta i unutrašnjih monologa. Teme kojima se najčešće vraća jesu seksualnost i religija. Četiri Broderikova romana Čarobnjakov svet, Usnuli zmajevi, Judina Mandala i Primopredajnici obrazuju seriju Faustus Pentacle u kojoj je autor pokušao da pruži svojevrstan SF alibi klasičnom sižeu epske fantastike, dobivši jedan osoben i originalan hibrid. Australijski pisac urednik je SF časopisa Zeitgeist Machine, a 1981. i 1985. pripala mu je nagrada Ditmar. [...]
